World Problem 101

Getting to see the world through someone else’s eyes;but it’s so sad knowing that all you see is Jet Black and blank

A truck full of negativity, violence,racism,tribalism and war

I hate to admit this but we live in a world where love is a far cry

We pass on hatred like it were a baton.

We need to redefine these terms; Racism, Tribalism and the extent to which they eat deep

Racism isn’t only the whites against the blacks

Racism is discrimination against any race

Whether it’s the white against the black folks or vice versa

The point here is it’s man’s inhumanity to man

It doesn’t matter the race, tribe or religion

We are all humans and should be treated as such

…he behaves that way because he’s Igbo/Yoruba/Hausa

My curiosity has always driven my quest for knowledge

We ask questions to you, him, her, them… Just until we get answers that are satisfactory

Likened to water and electricity, a needle and a balloon, soda and pepper… All these and more that can’t just be milk and sugar

The ethnic tribes of Nigeria have been in a sometimes uttered, others unuttered rift over the years

So many lapses in individual morals are excused by the other in a demeaning “… because he’s Igbo”

It has been passed down from generation to generation

Until we ask questions, highlight the problems to profer solution, we’ll live and die in the norm

“…from the days of Awolowo they say”

Awolowo died over eight decades ago, didn’t he?

Hey literate!

What happened to our sense of objectivity of not judging people based on what others say or think about them?

Whatever might have happened which I care little or zero about shouldn’t be our guiding light

Characters and behavioral patterns are exclusive to individuals and not tribes

Yes, I admit that agents of socialization could be a factor but excuse that and get to relate with the individual as one

Passing down one man’s personal vendetta from generation to generation doesn’t say too well about our religious beliefs too which speaks emphatically on FORGIVENESS

At this point, we are forgiving someone else’s hurt and not even ours…
