U.S. Immigration is 1 Year Behind On Applications

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is backlogged on applications as far back as October, 2016 upon inquiry of the mother of my child — wife’s Adjustment of Status application that’s been taking — forever.

Besides adjustment of status, we also have work authorization, and travel authorization pending so she can visit her family with our new child. For any of you who aren’t familiar with immigration law, coming to the US to get married doesn’t allow you to work or get any benefits or else the petitioner could be fined, sued, and go to jail. To get these privileges you have to apply for even more immigration applications and processes.

After all the thousands of dollars in immigration fees, hard work, and most important- time, USCIS is struggling to meet their own timelines let alone they’re taking refugees and debating on getting 800,000+ DACA applicants in the system to amnesty for all, yet we can’t even handle native-legal applicants.
