Good writing

Good writing is when an author of a work can fully address his or her message with no grammar errors. It is when a reader of said work is given all the information that they need of the subject matter or more. A reader of good writing would also be able to understand what is being said in the author’s work.

Bad writing, or writing that is not good writing, would be if the author makes many grammatical errors or cannot address the subject matter. A reader of bad writing would not be given enough or full knowledge of the subject matter being addressed. A passage that is bad writing would also be when the reader cannot understand the author’s work.

An author of good writing must make sure that his or her work gives the reader all they need to know. He or she must follow the guidelines of “who, what, when, where, and why”. If an author does not accomplish this, their reader is left without all the knowledge they could have about what is being addressed.

Good writing cannot include grammatical errors. An author must make sure to use proper pronunciation, punctuation, where to put quotation marks, know when to capitalize, and avoid run-on sentences. If a writer makes several grammar errors, then their work is considered very low quality and possibly hard for the reader to read.

A passage of good writing is something that a reader can understand. If an author tries to sound too intellectual by using big words and smart phrases, it can become complicated for many readers to understand. If a writer is writing about an unfamiliar subject matter like a business report, he or she must use terms that any reader can understand or else only businessmen can read the work.
