Oxygen

Hi! Oxygen is one of the characters of my personified Ochem series.

Lives rely so heavily on Oxygen. The Chinese character for Oxygen is 氧(Yang), which follows the standardized translation for elements that exist naturally as a gas, but before the standardization, the Chinese character for oxygen was 养 (Yang) — same pronunciation, but the literal meaning is “nourish”. Yes indeed, without the nourishment of oxygen, we won’t be living (but interestingly, aging/ process to death — is also “nourished” by oxidation…)

But you see how Oxygen rules us all? Well, technically, all chemicals rule us all :D

So after all, the “nourishment” idea of Oxygen is taken into my character’s creation. I decided to give Oxygen this ethereal, Taoist celestial air. So… here he is :D
