What am I Reading This May 2022?

Books I plan to read this upcoming month

The weather is unfortunately still cool in the part of the world I live in. With temperatures reaching low enough for snowfall it’s not yet warm enough to enjoy reading outside in the yard. But, that doesn’t stop me from soaking in the sun from the longer days, curling up in a chair by the window like a cat.

So, what do I have planned to keep me busy to help shake off these last bits of cold weather? Well, it’s time to get to a few books that have been on my to-be-read list for quite some time. Below are the books that I plan to tackle this upcoming month.

This book has been on my list for quite a while. I borrowed a copy from my coworker many (many) months ago and still have the book in my possession, staring at me from my shelf and giving me anxiety. This is the month that I am determined to crack it open and finish it, come hell or high water.

The Four Winds is a historical fiction centring around the Martenelli family living in the 1930s in Texas. Falling on hard times daughter Elsa has to decide whether to strike out on her own, in search of a better life or stay with her family and the familiar.

This book isn’t my usual cup of tea. I’m not really a historical fiction kind of gal, but for the sake of my coworker, I feel like I owe it to her to finally read this book after having it on my shelf for all these months. Here’s hoping by June I will finally be able to return it. Fingers crossed.

Okay, truth time.

Despite being a fairly voracious reader I have never read a stand-alone Steven King novel before (I read part of the Dark Tower series, but I think that’s it).

So, this is my book club’s pick for the upcoming month. I am looking forward to diving in and even managed to dig out the copy I found at my local used bookstore last summer.
