A Life Worth Living

I do not want to simply exist.

Do better.
Write more.
Try harder.
Don’t quit.
Learn more.
Be the best.

Things my brain screams to me,
But what if it’s wrong?
What if that isn't the way?

I will make mistakes,
It will be ok.
I am only a human after all.

Why should I work my mind to mush?
Life is for the living.
So for as long as I am here,
Merely existing just will not do.

I will enjoy small things.
If I am too busy being the best,
How will I find time to live?
A life of constant work,
Not what I want.

When my life comes to an end,
I want to say I truly lived.
Thousands of happy memories,
Is the legacy I want to hand down.

I could be a slave to success,
Work all day and never rest.
A dull drab existence,
No promise to excel.
Why gamble away my joy,
When the odds are against me.
